Located in Northwest, Washington, DC, less than a half of a mile from the United States Capitol and Union Station between North Capital Street on the east, New York Avenue on the north, New Jersey Avenue on the west and K Street on the south, Northwest One is the first project of the District’s New Communities Initiative. It is proposed to be a $700M development with over 1,600 residential units composed of apartments, condos, and townhomes with a 21,000 sq ft health clinic, 40,000 sq ft of retail space and 250,000 sq ft of office space. 2 M St LLC, a joint venture between The Warrenton Group and William C. Smith Co., is developing the first building to be designed as a Class A, Silver LEED certified rental property complete with a full amenity package including a roof top pool, theatre, club room, and gymnasium, just 2 blocks from the New York Avenue metro station. This 313 unit, 13 floor high-rise, mixed-income building with 5,000 sq ft of retail space will set the standard for all mixed income buildings in the region. Project to break ground August 2011.
